Future Monday : Montage Dragon

By Ken Watkins

We need a Montage! Montage! A Mother F$%^ing Montage!

OK enough of the singing/swearing. Lets get to the card.

For those that do not understand Japanese (like myself) here is the translation.

Name:
Montage Dragon

Type:
Dragon/Effect

Effect:
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 3 Monster Cards from your hand to the Graveyard. The original ATK of this card is equal to the total Levels of the Monster Cards sent to the Graveyard this way x 300.

My rating: 7-10

Montage Dragon is a good balanced card. You give up 4 cards to summon it (something most players will look down on) to get a beat stick with an original atk equal to the stars of the monsters you tossed for it. For example if you toss DMoK, Thunder Dragon x2 would mean a 5400 ATK monster. Note he can't be revived from the Removed From Play or the Graveyard.

But what type of deck could use him? Montage decks is a good idea.
Backup Soldier, Summoner's Art, Thunder Dragon and a few monsters like Sangan can be good for the deck. But the main deck that can use it would be the Dark PJ deck. The Dark PJ deck has a huge draw engine and has more then enough fuel for this card and enough ways to revive the monsters that are tossed too.

This card is also useful to side deck in monarch deck for when your opponent uses Mask of Restrict and those monarchs are siting in you hand. Or in one turn kill decks (like Dark PJ's).

With the Draw engine as it is this card is useful but it will lose out loads of the Draw cards get limited or baned. Which in my opinion is a good thing.
