Future Monday : Scrapiron Scarecrow

By Ken Watkins

My first card from the future after Tom destroyed all the other ones when he changed the format of this section is the first trap I have ever reviewed.

For those that do not understand Japanese (like myself) here is the translation.

Name:
Scrapiron Scarecrow (note this is a direct translation and maybe changed)

Speed:
Normal

Effect:
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Negate the attack of the opponent's monster. After activation, this card is not sent to the Graveyard, but is Set on the field instead.

My rating: 10-10

This card is very powerful. Some might say it is not that good because it doesn't destroy the monster but if it had the effect of destroying the monster that attacked then it would need a cost. As it stands this card stops one attack per turn and doesn't cost at all.

Because of it effect it is never sent to the grave after it uses it effect it just gets set for a turn and is usable again and again until your opponent destroys it him/herself. There is two cards that work well with this one.

"The Dark Door" limits your opponent to one attack per turn and is really funny to watch your opponent go Mad because of the limitations you place on him.

And the Temple of the Kings (Not released)(also known as Cathedral of Nobles) removes the "has to be set until the end of the turn" rule so you use it as much as you like per turn.

This card came out in Japan in the Starter Deck 2008 (Yusei Fudo deck) and will probably come out in the same way here.
